Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance today included reviewing documentation required for program leaders (lead staff) and that they can only supervise two staff who do not have documentation of program leader qualifications.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 10 am - 12 pm. There were 21 children present with 4 staff. I observed children as they returned to the school from the park and did bathrooming; listened to a Thomas the train story; had circle time and prepared for lunch and naptime. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-420-A
Description: Based on a review of children's records today, there were some that did not have documentation of an annual parent review of emergency information as required. Evidence: The records for Child # 3, 4 , and 5 did not have documentation of a parent review of information.

Plan of Correction: These will be updated.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-520-B
Description: Based on a review of records today, some a children had authorizations for sunblock that expired over a year ago. Evidence: The authorizations for sunblock for Child # 2,3,4 and 5 were over one year old.

Plan of Correction: These will be updated.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-F
Description: Based on observation today, the local number for police, fire and regional poison control was not posted near each telephone. Evidence: It was posted on the parent board, not near the phone.

Plan of Correction: It was probably posted but we will re-post the list of numbers.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-M
Description: Based on a review of injury reports today at the center, not all required written information was included in the record. Evidence: Of five reports reviewed, four did not have the time or notification and one did not have the method of notification.

Plan of Correction: We will make sure the staff complete the forms as required.
