Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 7/8/2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 31 children (2-12yrs.) supervised by 6 direct care staff. The physical plant, 3 staff records, 4 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in Three Little Pigs activities, building train tracks and bridges, playing with letter blocks, making rainbow fish, completing puzzles, and playing a bulls-eye paint game. There was an abundance of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the Violation Notice. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Anansa Archer-Hicks at (703) 268-3295, or anansa.archer-hicks@dss.virginia.gov.
