Comments:
An announced initial inspection was conducted on 7/16/19 from 1:15pm until 2:20pm. Two staff records were reviewed as well as first aid and emergency supplies. The entire facilities and grounds were inspected and classroom and playground measurements were taken. Any areas of standards related to direct service that were not determined during the initial inspection will be determined at the first unannounced inspection following the issuance of a license. All future inspections will be unannounced. The first unannounced inspection will be conducted within 60 days from the date the license is issued. Please contact the inspector at (757) 334-4329 if there are any questions. One violation in the area of special care provisions and emergencies is identified on the violation notice and was discussed with the center director during the exit interview.

Description: Based on a review of the first aid kit and interview, it was determined the center did not ensure that the first aid kit contains all required items. Evidence: 1. The center's first aid kid did not include a battery operated flashlight or radio. 2. The center director confirmed the first aid kit was lacking a battery operated flashlight and radio.

Plan of Correction: The center director will obtain a battery operated flashlight and radio to be placed in the first aid kit.
