Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-420-A
Description: Based on document review and discussion with the staff, the facility failed to ensure that parents shall be provided with all policies/procedures as required by the standards. Evidence: The following policies/procedures were not included with the parent information: the center's policy regarding application of sunscreen, diaper ointment and insect repellent and the appropriate general daily schedule for the age of the enrolling child. Staff #1 stated that some parents have already received the information as printed that did not include the aforementioned policies/procedures.

Plan of Correction: The Child Care Coordinator will add to the missing parts to the parent handbook and will do an addendum to the currently printed copies.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-A
Description: Based on discussion with the staff, the facility failed to maintain emergency preparedness plans that address staff responsibility and facility readiness with respect to emergency evacuation and shelter-in-place. The plan, which shall be developed in consultation with local or state authorities, address the most likely to occur emergency scenario or scenarios, including but not limited to natural disaster, chemical spills, intruder and terrorism specific to the locality. Evidence: There was not an emergency preparedness plan available to review on-site during the inspection.

Plan of Correction: The Child Care Coordinator will develop the plans and get them on site before the first day.
