Thank you for your assistance during this unannounced monitoring inspection. This on-site visit was conducted on July 29, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. through 1:15 p.m. There were forty-one children in the care of eight staff in four classrooms. No medication is being given at this time. Five children's and five staff records were reviewed and updated. Areas of non-compliance may be found on the violation notice. Areas observed were: outside play, hand washing/bathroom procedures, lunch, music, circle time, free educational choice activity, and nap. Interactions between the children and staff were observed as appropriate and the children seem comfortable with their daily routine and schedule. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation the center failed to have two cleaning items in a locked cabinet. Evidence: 1. One bottle of Clorox Anywhere and one container of disinfecting wipes were located in an unlocked cabinet in Classroom #4. 2. Staff confirmed the cabinet was not locked. Plan of Correction: Items will be removed and placed in a locked cabinet. A lock will be placed on the cabinet if used to keep hazardous substances.
