An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 8:30am-11:00am. There were 52 children (infants-school aged) supervised by 10 direct care staff. The physical plant, programming, 8 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, eating breakfast, leaving for a field trip, playing outside and free play. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundance of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-380-A Description: Based on observation, a daily schedule is not posted on each classroom. Evidence: The 2 camp classrooms and Fours classroom do not have a posted daily schedule. Plan of Correction: Daily schedule for the Fours classroom was posted during the inspection, and one will be posted in the camp classrooms by the end of the week.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-A Description: Based on observation, after a diaper change a child's hands were not washed. Evidence: After an infant's diaper change the infant's hands were not washed. Plan of Correction: I will speak with the staff today and review diapering/handwashing procedures at our next staff meeting.
