Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-A
Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that children hands shall be washed with soap and running water or disposable wipes after eating meals or snacks. Evidence: 1. The licensing inspector observed that 17 out of 24 children did not wash their hands with soap and running water or wipe their hands with disposable wipes after lunch. 2. Children were observed cleaning up their lunch area and putting their belongings away. The children then went to the tables and began doing table top activities or preparing for the field trip. 3. Staff verified that not all children washed their hands or used a disposable wipe after lunch.

Plan of Correction: Staff will be reminded that all children need to wash or wipe their hands after all snacks and meals. A staff person will monitor the meal and lunch area to ensure that children wipe their hands after all snack and meals.
