An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection was conducted on July 31, 2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date (see separate report for details). Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in the licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. There were 34 children present ranging in age from 2 years to 12 years. All staff must have documentation of the mandatory VA Pre-service Training and certification in first aid and CPR within 90 days of employment. All children with diagnosed food allergies must have an Allergy Action Plan completed by the physician. Reminder: evacuation drills are required monthly, shelter in place drills are required twice a year, and a lockdown drill is required once a year. Lockdown drills are to isolate children and staff from a security threat; shelter in place is to protect children from a natural or manmade threat. The last lockdown drill was conducted 7/25/2019.
