Comments:
An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection was conducted on July 19, 2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date (see separate report for details). Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in the licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. There were 73 children present ranging in age from 5 years to 12 years old. All staff must have documentation of VA Pre-service Training and current certification in first aid and CPR within 90 days of employment. All children with diagnosed food allergies must have an Allergy Action Plan completed by a physician. Reminder: evacuation drills are required monthly, shelter in place drills are required twice a year, and a lockdown drill is required once a year. Lockdown drills are to isolate children and staff from a security threat; shelter in place is to protect children from a natural or manmade threat.
If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact me at tara.barton@dss.virginia.gov or 804-662-9766.
