A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 8/5/2019 from 10:10am to 1:00pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 49 children (infants-5yrs.) supervised by 11 direct care staff. The physical plant, 3 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed reading books, playing with musical instruments, having circletime, and playing outside on the playground. Toileting and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundance of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
