Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-430-B
Complaint related: Yes
Description: Based on observation, and interviews, the materials used for the wading pool were not age and stage appropriate. Evidence: The container used for the wading pool was the plastic bin of an outdoor sand and water table; approximate size of 4 ft X 2 ft. Staff #1 stated children were placed individually (supervised) in a sitting position, in the plastic bin, with water to cover their swimming diapers. All children were sitting in the infant buggy, supervised by Staff #2, while Staff #1 was engaged in water play with the individual child. The bin was not appropriate for the age or the activity.

Plan of Correction: We will adhere to all equipment manufacturer's guidelines for use of all equipment in our school (whether used inside or outside). We will retrain all staff regarding safety policies and how to properly use equipment along with using the equipment for age appropriate activities. We have a staff meeting scheduled for 8/16/2019.
