Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 10:30am to 1:30pm. The infants and toddlers were observed being fed and playing on the floor with a teacher. The preschool and school age children were observed going on a field trip, and eating lunch. All classrooms were inspected today. The facilities transportation and playgrounds were inspected as well. Eight children?s records and eight employee records were reviewed during this inspection. The center administers medication, however there wasn't any being administered at this time. The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected. Last emergency drill: 06/25/2019 Shelter-in-place drills: 06/10/2019 & 04/19/2019 Total enrollment today: 87 Today, the following child to staff ratios were observed: Infants- 12:3 Toddlers?8:2 Twos ?13:2 Threes ?9:1 Fours-7:1 Pre-K-12:2 School Age ?21:2 The violations from the previous inspections were checked for corrections. Description: Based on observation and staff interview on 07/25/2019, the center did not ensure that when food is brought from home the food container shall be clearly dated and labeled in a way that identifies the owner. EVIDENCE: 1. A sippy cup of apple juice was observed in the refrigerator in the infant room. 2. Staff stated that the cup belonged to a child in another class and was brought in by the child's parent when the child was dropped off.

Plan of Correction: Will make sure to look through children's items upon arrival and label.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-570-A
Description: Based on observation on 07/25/2019, the center did not ensure that when a child is placed in an infant seat the protective belt shall be fastened securely. EVIDENCE: The protective belt missing from the seat of two children seated in an infant feeding table.

Plan of Correction: Will remove bucket seats without straps. Will feed the children in their groupings in the remaining seats with straps. Will order new straps.
