Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:30am-1:00pm. There were 36 children directly supervised by 10 staff. The physical plant, staff records, children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies,and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, dramatic play. A group of infants was outside playing with bubbles. An inspection of the new wing of the building was conducted, the new space was measured and the equipment was inspected. The new space currently has a building use group of E. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation, not areas of the outside were maintained in a safe and operable condition. Evidence: Two wooden slats of the ramp leading to the outdoor playground area were splintering and one contained a loose screw.

Plan of Correction: The screw was removed during the inspection. There is a plan in place to replace the current slats on the ramp and we have already had contractors out to look at the project.
