Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B Description: Based on observation, it was determined that the preschool playground did not have sufficient resilient surfacing underneath and surrounding the climbing play equipment. Evidence: Directly underneath and surrounding the entire multicolored composite climbing structure and swings was wooden mulch as well as decomposed wooden mulch which has turned to mud/dirt. The inspector measured several areas around the structure. The multicolored composite climbing structure and the area underneath and surrounding both swings had about 0 - 6 inches of wooden mulch. The use zone for the climbing equipment and swings required six inches of resilient surfacing. Plan of Correction: No play on equipment until sufficient mulch is delivered within approximately two weeks.
