Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on August 23, 2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The inspection was initiated at 10:45am and concluded at 1:45pm. The Director participated in the inspection. Upon arrival the toddler class was having splash day with the sprinkler and water tables. The pre-school and pre-k children were observed on the playground climbing on the equipment. The two year old class played a group game of indoor soccer and sticky tic tac toe. Observations in the infant room included diapering, feeding and play time on the carpet with musical instruments. Staff interacted in a positive manner with children in care. Later lunch time was observed in each classroom. Today's lunch consisted of pizza, mixed vegetables, fruit and milk. Meals are served family style with extra servings when requested. The school age group prepared for a field trip to the Science Museum. All areas of the center were inspected including the pool. Today a sister center was using the pool. The pool was equipped with all required equipment and postings. The center has age and stage appropriate materials and supplies. The following information was posted: license, most recent inspection notice, emergency numbers, daily schedules, menu and evacuations maps/procedures. The first aid kit and non-medical emergency supplies were reviewed and found complete. The inspector interacted with staff and children in care. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. Eight staff Records and nine children's records were reviewed. Medications and authorizations were reviewed. Multiple staff on site have current CPR, First aid, daily health observation and MAT training. The most recent evacuation drill was documented on 07/22/2019. The two required shelter-in-place drills were completed on 03/19/2019 and 04/05/2019. A lock down drill was conducted on 06/27/2019.
