The inspector conducted an unannounced mandated inspection from 1:45 until 3:30 p.m. There were 11 children in care with two staff members present. No medications are being administered. Children were observed playing inside and learning letters, playing outside, napping, and being picked up by their parents. Five children's records and five staff records were reviewed. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A Description: Based on record review, the center did not have all the required information for new staff. Evidence: 1. The inspector reviewed five staff records. One of five records (#1) had one reference on file. Plan of Correction: The director will get the second reference.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on record review, the center did not have the documentation completed for two shelter-in-place practice drills a per year. Evidence: 1. The inspector asked to see the drills and the staff could not find them. Plan of Correction: The director stated they had been completed and will find the documentation.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3 Description: Based on record review and interview, the center did not complete an out of state central registry check for a person that had lived out of state in the past 5 years. Evidence: 1. The inspector reviewed five staff records. One of five records (#1) had completed the sworn disclosure stating they had lived out of state, but there was not out of state central registry check completed. Plan of Correction: The director will have the out of state check completed.
