- Technical Assistance:
Three hours of Virginia Annual Health and Safety Update Training for Child Care must be completed by all existing staff no later than March 1, 2020.
Please notify your inspector of suspension or termination of services for more than 24 hours as a result of an emergency.
Please complete http://www.dss.virginia.gov/facility/injury_report_subsidy.cgi to report any serious injury to the Division. Serious injuries are defined as an injury sustained while in day care that resulted in the child getting outside medical treatment.
An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection was conducted on September 10, 2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date (see separate report for details). Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in the licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. There were 48 children present ranging in age from 5 months to 5 years. All staff must have documentation of the mandatory VA Pre-service Training and current certification in first aid and CPR within 90 days of employment. All children with diagnosed food allergies are required to have an Allergy Action Plan completed by the physician. The last shelter in place drill was conducted 8/23/2019. The last lockdown drill was conducted 8/23/2019.
