Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance was offered regarding updating the written plans for group sizes.

Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 9/6/19 to review supplemental health and safety requirements.There were 44 children with 11 staff members. The children were observed engaged in circle time activities, playing outdoors and playing with toys.
A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-665-540-A
Description: Based on records review, the center did not obtain Tuberculosis (TB) screenings for employee within 30 days prior to the first day of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 1 was hired on 8/30/19. Staff # 1's TB screening was dated 7/15/19.
2. Staff # 2 was hired on 8/26/19. Staff # 2's TB screening was dated 12/1/18.
3. TB screenings for both staff were not obtained within 30 days prior to their first day of employment.

Plan of Correction: We will be sure to get TBs for new staff within the required time frame.
