Reminder that all staff need 16 hours of training annually.

An unannounced monitoring inspections was conducted today between 10:00 am and 2:00pm. There were 103 children present with 17 staff responsible for direct supervision. The children were observed in the outdoor classroom, singing, hand washing and preparing for lunch. Lunch consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, hash browns, grapes and milk. The physical plant, children's records, staff records, injury reports, the emergency plan and emergency supplies were inspected. Areas of non compliance were cited on the Violation Notice. Child #3, #4, #5 and #7 do not have documentation of local emergency pick up contacts listed.Plan of Correction: We went into our online forms and added the request for a local emergency pick up contact.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-D Description: Based on a review of medications, the center failed to ensure that medication authorizations are up to date.
Evidence:
Child #7's medication was found with an expired medication authorization.Plan of Correction: Removed from classroom during inspection and will be returned to the parent today.
