An unannounced monitoring inspection was completed today. The physical plant, 4 staff files, 5 children's files,staff training, children's activities, emergency procedures, drills and supplies were inspected between 10:30am-12:30pm. There were 21 children under the supervision of 4 staff. During the inspection, children were observed participating in circle time, singing songs,reading books, knitting, completing puzzles, playing outside on the playground and preparing for and eating lunch. Each day the children are in care, they bring their lunches from home. The interactions between the children and staff were seen to be positive and constructive in nature. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-E Description: Based on interview, the center did not maintain a record of the dates of the practice drills for one year.

1. The Director informed the Inspector that she did not keep any of the evacuation drills from the 2018-2019 school year.Plan of Correction: These will be kept for a year.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1721.1-B-3 Description: Based on file review, 1 out of 4 staff record does not have results of a search of the central registry maintained by any other state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years.

1. Staff #3 has lived in Maryland within the past five years, but does not have a Search of the Central Registry for that state on file.Plan of Correction: The LI reviewed this information from the dss.virginia.gov website. This will be completed.
