An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today.
There were 58 children in care with 14 staff and two administrators.
Children were observed eating,playing outdoors, resting and actively playing.
Previous violations, medications, seven children's files and 12 staff files were reviewed.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on a tour of the CASA room, the facility failed to ensure that all areas used by children are safe and operable.
Evidence:
1. The wooden floors are buckled and cracked presenting tripping hazards.

Plan of Correction: Administration is in the process of fixing the wooden floors in the CASA classroom.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-520-C
Description: Based on a review of the children's bathroom, the facility failed to ensure that all diaper ointment is inaccessible to children.
Evidence:
1. Four jars of diaper ointment were on the floor in the bathroom used by children in care.

Plan of Correction: Administration has relocated the jars of Burt's Bees diaper ointment to a place that is inaccessible to children.
