The licensing inspector and administration discussed age appropriate and constructive behavioral guidance. As listed in 22VAC40-185-400, behavioral guidance shall be constructive in nature, age and stage appropriate, and shall be intended to redirect children to appropriate behavior and resolve conflicts.
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced complaint inspection on September 25, 2019 in response to a complaint received by our department on August 29, 2019. The inspector was on site from 8:30 AM to 10:50 AM. The allegations of the complaint were regarding staff-to-child ratios, behavioral guidance, and daily activities. Classroom observations were made, interviews were conducted, and records were reviewed. The preponderance of the evidence gathered during the investigation supports one of the allegations and the complaint is determined valid. See the violation notice for more detail. If you have any questions, please contact the licensing inspector at 804-662-9092.
