The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection on Thursday, September 26, 2019 between 10:00 am to 12:37 pm determine the center's compliance with licensing standards. During this inspection, the children in care were observed by the licensing inspector in the various classroom settings. The census for today's inspection consisted of 115 children with appropriate staff present. The licensing inspector completed observations of the children in care completing a variety of activities to include eating breakfast, completing bathroom breaks/handwashing,brushing their teeth, participating in centers, engaged in active play with peers, and working in circle time. The children's breakfast consisted of cereal, fruit cocktail, and milk. The center's bathrooms, and designated classrooms, and equipment were inspected by the licensing inspector. The required posting were reviewed by the inspector. There were eleven children?s records reviewed by the inspector during the inspection. Medications were reviewed by the inspector during this inspection. The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected. The present staff emergency contact and available training information was reviewed by the inspector. Evidence: The last dated fire inspection available for review was dated 08/20/18. Interview with staff confirmed an updated fire inspection report was not available for review during the inspection.Plan of Correction: The program notified Hampton City school to obtain a copy of inspection or schedule inspection if not updated.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure all areas/equipment of the center, inside and outside were maintained in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
Evidence: In classroom 110, there was a flooring space with multiple areas of rusting accessible to the children in care during the inspection.Plan of Correction: The program will contact custodian Supervisor to have area cleared of rust.
