Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:45 am until 11:00 am. The inspector met with the new Center Director Karen Dunham. There were 51 children directly supervised by 8 staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in large group reading and book discussion including making story predictions, participating in an assessment of skills, participating in learning center play to include apple stacking and predicting the behavior of apples in water. Transitions from large to small group activities were observed and were calm and organized. Staff were observed to be engaged in two- way discussions with children and using positive guidance. Classrooms were supplied with a variety of toys, art materials and books appropriate for the ages in care. The center was clean and organized. No violations were issued during todays inspection.
