- Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance today included record keeping.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 12:45 - 2:45 pm. There were 66 children present with 10 staff. I observed the beginning and end of naptime, and after nap preparation for afternoon activities. The center had a large variety of age appropriate activities available in all classrooms and two happy class guinea pigs. Records and medications were well organized. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-C Description: Based on a sample of staff files today, one staff was found to not have documentation of a current TB screening.
Staff # 1 had a TB screening that expired 8/19.
Plan of Correction: She will get a new one as soon as possible.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation during today's inspection, there were some items that were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method as required.
In the bathroom, there was a spray cleaner on top of a closed diaper changing station. In a classroom, cleaners were observed in a high cabinet, but they were not locked as required.
Plan of Correction: The cleaner was removed from the bathroom. We will make sure everything is locked.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-530-2-b Description: Based on a review of staff files today,not all paperwork was available for review for a staff who resided in another state in the past five years.
Staff # 1 did not have documentation of results of a Search of the Central Registry from the state where they lived in the past five years as required.
Plan of Correction: We will get this as soon as possible.
