63.2 Facilities & Programs.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 8:20am to 9:30am. There were 63 children in care of 5 staff members. The children were observed engaged in various activities including arts and crafts, eating breakfast, playing on the black top and reading. The children were observed departing the program for school, and name to face checks were observed. Medications and emergency drill records were reviewed. 5 children's records and 4 staff records were reviewed. Areas of non compliance are listed in the violation notice. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A
Description: Based on record review, children's records were not complete.
Evidence: Child # 2's record was missing information for persons authorized to pick up in an emergency .

Plan of Correction: I will get the information from the parents.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-A
Description: Based on observation, the center did not obtain written authorization for a long term non prescription medication.
Evidence: Child # 1 had a long term, non prescription allergy medication on site. The center did not obtain written authorization for the medication.

Plan of Correction: I will ask the parent to bring in the medication form.
