Comments:
An unannounced complaint investigation was conducted today in response to an online complaint received by the Fairfax Licensing Office on 9/30/2019 regarding supervision of children and ratio requirements. Observations of children were made in five classrooms during lunch and during naptime transitions. All classrooms were operating within the ratio requirements with 70 children observed under the supervision of 17 staff. Staff were observed taking infants outside in a stroller, feeding, and placing down on mats for tummy time. Staff in other rooms were observed actively engaged with children while they were eating lunch. Transitions between lunch and nap were observed to be calm following procedures known to the children in care. There was not a preponderance of the evidence to support the complaint, and it is deemed to be not valid. No other violations were observed during today's inspection. Please contact Kara Wright at kara.wright@dss.virginia.gov with questions regarding this inspection.
