Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 10:00am-12:30pm. There were 26 children (2yrs.-5yrs.) directly supervised by 8 staff. The physical plant, 6 staff records, 5 children?s record, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, playing outside, and eating snack. There was an adequate supply of materials for the children. The required number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training was confirmed and Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B
Description: Based on observation of the Child Day Center it was determined that cleaning products were not kept in a locked place.

Evidence: During inspection the cleaning supplies in the 2 year old classroom was observed in a plastic container with a lid on top of the cubbies without a lock.

Plan of Correction: Director will change the container and get a lock.
