An unannounced renewal inspection was done today October 17, 2019. The inspector arrived at 8:20 AM and departed the program at 12:00 P.M. There were twenty-six children in care today with five staff supervising the children. The children gathered in the big room in the morning and then went to their individual classroom. The children were observed during free play, morning snack, art and circle time in their classrooms. The majority of children leave at 1:00 PM but some stayed for the afternoon program which ends at 6:00 PM. Five staff's records, two board officers and five children's records were reviewed during the inspection.

Discussion with director about: circle time with the toddlers and two year old, time out according to the age of time and as the behavior occurs not a hour later.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-340-D
Description: Based on review of five staff's records and observation with staff the center failed to ensure that each grouping of children had a qualified program lead.
