Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was done today 10/24/2019 beginning at 9:A.M and ending at 1 PM. There were 47 children in care today. The children were observed during their activities such as playing, eating snack and lunch, outdoor time, swimming and nap . Eight children's and seven staff's record were reviewed. This included newly enrolled children and hired staff.

Discussion with director: using half door in the preschool classrooms and new playground surfacing.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-420-E-1
Description: Based on review of the infant daily log, the center failed to ensure that all required information.

Evidence:
1. The infant daily log was missing developmental milestones.

Plan of Correction: The program director will use the original form that contains all required information of the standard.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2
Description: Based on review of eight staff's records, the center failed to ensure that all CPS (child protective service) background checks were obtained and returned with findings within 30 days of hire.

Evidence:
1. Staff # 3 was hired on 2/28/2019 and on the day of the inspection there was no CPS check completed in the staff persons record.

Plan of Correction: The child care director will have the staff to resubmit their CPS check as soon as they are complete and will monitor time frame.
