Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was completed on 10/28/2019. There were one child in care with two staff present. The inspector arrived at 1:40 P.M.. and departed at 4:00 PM. Five children's records and four staff's records were reviewed during the inspection.

Observed the children during: free play, snack,outside time, arrival into the program from a local school and hand washing procedures.

Discussion with the staff about lead teacher qualifications, rearranging the outside play equipment, and subsidy requirements.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A
Description: Based on review of four staff's records, the center failed to ensure that all components were obtained as required by the standard.

Evidence:
1. Staff # 2, staff # 3 and 4 was missing one of the two required references.

Plan of Correction: The director will work on obtaining the missing references and will make sure all records are complete.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-E
Description: Based on review of the emergency records, the center failed to ensure that a fire drills were documented.

Evidence:
1. July and September 2019 did not have a documented fire drill.

Plan of Correction: The staff stated that a drill was conducted but was not documented. The director and staff will ensure that all drills are documented on the form.
