Comments:
The following inspection took place between the hours of 8:30 am through 10:30 am. Today, I met with the Staff of the Claude Moore Recreation and Community Center located in Sterling, Virginia. At the start of this unannounced renewal inspection there were a total of 15 children observed with 3 staff; good ratio for this one room. A total of 5 children were reviewed. Staff files shall be reviewed on a later date. The children were engaged in the following: Preschool Fall Fest; where the children attended an onsite hayride, outdoor fall games & center activities, to culminate in an outdoor trick-or-treat adventure in the onsite forest. These outdoor activities were set up and supervised by staff. In addition, the children's parents were invited to attend. One room, Room #4 will have their fest tomorrow. Room #4 were engaged in art, games, learning, imaginative play, and other center activities. If you should have any future questions, please call or send an e-mail to charles.perkins@dss.virginia.gov. Thank you.
