Technical Assistance:
Discussed staffing schedule to maintain ratios at all times.

Comments:
A mandated monitoring inspection was conducted today 11/5/19. There were 21 children present with 2 staff. Children were observed playing with robots, their personal electronic devices, reading, playing Barbies, playing with cars, playing with legos, and washing hands for snack. Reviewed 4 children's files, 2 staff files, emergency evacuation log, attendance, medications and authorizations, first aid kit and physical plant. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-350-E-5
Description: Based on observation, the center did not maintain required staff to children ratios.
Evidence:
Staff#1 was left alone with 21 children while Staff#2 went to get snack. Ratio for this age group is 1:18.

Plan of Correction: This violation was corrected at the time of inspection by Staff#2 taking 3 children to get snack.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-E
Description: Based on staff interviews and observation, the center did not maintain a record of the dates of the practiced drills.
Evidence:
Documentation did not show the fire drill for the moth of October. Staff stated they conducted the drill on October 1st, and forgot to write it down.

Plan of Correction: We will make sure to document drills.
