Discussed with the new Director the timing of the lockdown drill.

Comments:
An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted today from 9:00am to 12:15pm in conjunction with a monitoring inspection (see that inspection report for details). The two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Five staff records were reviewed for documentation of the mandatory VA Preservice Training, First Aid and CPR training. There are children currently enrolled with diagnosed food allergies and their records contained the required allergy care plans. The last lockdown drill was conducted 9/21/18. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Laura Brindle, at laura.brindle@dss.virginia.gov or 540-905-2062.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-510-B
Description: Based on observation and review of the attendance record, the center did not ensure that the written hard copy record of daily attendance documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs. Evidence: In the two-year-old classroom the attendance documented 12 children present, however, there were 13 children counted in the classroom by the Licensing Inspector and the Director.

Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
