An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, 11/5/19.
Upon arrival to the center the children were outside playing on the playground, having free time in the class rooms, preparing for lunch, reading books, eating lunch, washing hands and preparing for nap.
A review of staff and children's records also took place during the inspection.
There are 52 children in care ranging in age from 12 weeks to five years of age with nine staff and one director and one cook present during the inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation the center failed to have all areas maintained in a safe and operable condition.
Evidence:
1. The storage building on the playground has a broken window.
2. The infant and toddler playground area has a wooden fence that has exposed nail heads that are protruding out of the wood. This area is accessible to the children.Plan of Correction: 1. The window will be removed.
2. The owner will replace the nails with screws.
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-1-B Description: Based on review of staff records the center failed to have all staff complete central registry checks within 30 days of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff 1, 2, 5 & 7 have a hire date of 9/17/19 and do not have a current central registry background check on file.Plan of Correction: The director will have the staff complete these forms and sent off within 10 days.
