The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection on Thursday, November 7, 2019 between 1:30 pm to 3:15 pm to determine the center's compliance with licensing standards. During this inspection, there were sixteen children present with three staff in the designated classroom area. The licensing inspector observed the children in care napping, transitioning from napping, completing bathroom breaks/handwashing, and eating snack. The children's snack today consisted of yogurt, orange wedges, and water. The first aid kit and emergency supplies, posted emergency contacts, emergency drills, menu, required postings were reviewed by the inspector. During this inspection, there were five children's records and four staff records reviewed. The center's bathrooms, and classroom were inspected. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on review of children's record and interview with staff, the center did not ensure each child enrolled record contain the following information.
Evidence: In Child#1's record (start date 9/12/19) the physicians name/phone number was missing. Interview with staff confirmed this information was not available for review during the inspection.Plan of Correction: The violation corrected by correcting children's file by making sure doctors numbers and address matched on all forms. Went through all files and checked all children's.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-D-5 Description: Based on review of staff records and interview with staff, the program did not ensure at least one staff member on duty has a current daily health observation training.
Evidence: In Staff#1(date of hire: 5/15/19), Staff#3 (date of hire: 12/11/18),Staff#4 (date of hire: 10/17/19) records, there was no certificate found for a current DHO training for at least one staff member on duty. Interview with staff confirmed the staff present during the inspection has no DHO training.Plan of Correction: I have notified our agencies Health Coordinator that we need a Health observation training to be set up soon. It is to be scheduled in the next couple of months.
