A unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with the director. 15 Children were in care with an age range of 16 months to five years old. Children were observed playing outside and free play in rooms. Five children,s and four staff records were reviewed. All required paper work was posted. The inspection time was 10:30am-12:45pm
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-A Description: Based on observation not all children's hands were washed after a diaper change.
Evidence: The staff in the infant room did not wash a child's hands after changing a diaper.
Plan of Correction: We will go over the diaper producers with staff.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B Description: Based on observation not all staff used their foot to open the foot operated diaper pail.
Evidence: Staff in the infant room opened the foot operated diaper pail with their hand to dispose of the soiled diaper.
Plan of Correction: will remind staff on diaper procedures.
