Technical Assistance:
Discussed one are of the bathroom in the child care room that needs to be monitored for maintenance. Discussed the plans for new fencing around your playground and suggestions to address the space between the border and fencing.

Discussion on the afternoon programs such as your Bluemont Explorers and the frequency of these clubs and duration.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted this date. A total of 12 children with 3 staff present. The preschool program had dismissed prior to this inspection, child care classroom was preparing for nap time. Hand washing and bathroom procedures were followed prior to nap time. Walk thru of 3 of the 4 classrooms was made and observation of the newly installed playground. Measurements were taken of the heights of equipment, and manufacturer information was provided. The school was decorated with fall themed decorations and crafts completed by the children. Some parents observed picking up children for the day. A total of 3 children's records were reviewed and found complete. Staff files are reviewed annually in the administrative office, however emergency contacts, MAT, DOH training and first aid and cpr certification was verified. Description: Based on observation of center, one hazardous substance was found unlocked and accessible to children.
Evidence: A spray bottle containing a bleach solvent was found unlocked on the counter within reach of children.

Plan of Correction: The bleach solvent was secured immediately.
