Comments:
An unannounced renewal study was conducted today with the director who was present with thirty-five children with six staff providing supervision. The infants were toddling around and exploring the classroom while the preschoolers were engaged in circle time and water play. Six staff and children's files were reviewed today as well as medications for five children. Please return your plan of correction by 11/15/19.

Description: Based on observation, it was determined that areas inside the building was not maintained in a safe manner.
Evidence:
The Licensing Inspector observed telephone cords from the wall mounted phones hanging in reach of children, these cords can present a strangulation hazard.

Description: Based on a review of 7 medications for five children, it was determined that center did not have authorization to administer the medication.
Evidence:
There was no parental authorization to administer Ibuprofen to child A and the physician's authorization did not identify the center by name as having the authority to administer Ibuprofen to child A.
