Discussed with the director the timing of the lockdown drill.
An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted today from 12:45pm to 3:45pm in conjunction with a monitoring inspection (see that inspection report for details). The two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Five staff records were reviewed for documentation of the mandatory Virginia Preservice Training and current certification in First Aid and CPR and were in compliance. There are no children currently enrolled with diagnosed food allergies but the Director is aware of the need for allergy care plans when children have allergies. The last lockdown drill was documented on 1/4/18. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Laura Brindle, at email@example.com or 540-905-2062.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-510-B Description: Based on observation and interview with staff, the center did not maintain a written hard copy record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs. Evidence: In the Infant B class, the attendance record had documentation of nine children in care, but there were only eight children in care. In the Toddlers class, the attendance record had documentation of four children in care, but there were five children in care. Plan of Correction: I spoke with the teachers about the importance of keeping the attendance updated today and moving forward.
A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.
The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.
