An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, 11/22/2019 regarding a self-reported incident regarding Infant feedings. Staff were interviewed and documentation was reviewed. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-A Description: Based on interview with staff, staff did not receive required training prior to their first day of employment.
Evidence:
Staff#1 (start date 8/19/19) did not receive Safe Bottle feeding training prior to her first day . Interview with staff revealed Child#1 was given Child#2's bottle. Staff stated approximately 1 oz was consumed by the wrong child before staff realized the error. The bottle was immediately taken away.Plan of Correction: We re-trained staff on Safe Bottle Feeding throughout the month October.
