The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 between 12:50 pm to 3:51 pm to determine the center's compliance with licensing standards. During this inspection, there were 73 children in care and 14 staff to include administrative staff. The licensing inspector observed the children in care participating in a variety of activities to include completing bathroom breaks, engaged in active play with peers and staff, preparing for napping, and eating snack, transitioning from napping, and parent pick up. The first aid kit and emergency supplies, posted emergency contacts, fire and shelter-in-place drills were reviewed by the inspector. The center's classrooms, bathrooms, and outdoor playground areas were inspected. During this inspection, there were six children's records and five staff records were reviewed by the inspector. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-140-A Description: Based on review of children records and interview with staff, the center did not ensure to obtain physical examination documentation within one month after attendance.
Evidence: In Child#5's record (start date: 3/11/19) there was no physical examination documentation found. Interview with staff confirmed the physical documentation was not available for review during the inspection.Plan of Correction: The physical documentation was requested from the parent and will be received by the center within a week.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure all areas and equipment, inside and outside are maintained in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
Evidence: During the inspection, there was a plastic shopping cart with multiple cracks on the bottom with sharp edges accessible to the children in care located on the playground area .Plan of Correction: The center Director dispose of equipment during the inspection.
