The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 2:45pm to approximately 5:00pm. The program?s site director and assistant director were present and assisted the inspector throughout the inspection. The census for today?s inspection consisted of 81 children in the direct care of 9 staff members. Additional staff were on site and available to the children throughout the inspection. During the inspection, the children were observed engaged in a variety of activities. Upon the inspector?s arrival, the children were observed in their designated groups and classrooms. Some of the children were observed taking bathroom breaks and waiting in the gym as children from other schools were dropped off. The children were later observed as they transitioned to the cafeteria to have a snack and other activities. Staff were observed having positive interactions with the children throughout the inspection. The menu was posted and today?s snack consisted of Elf grahams, strawberries, and kiwi juice. The dinner option consisted of chicken salad, crackers, buttered corn, fresh fruit, and milk. All areas of the center including two classrooms used by the program, the gym, hallways, the cafeteria, bathrooms, and playgrounds were inspected. Transportation is provided and 1 van was inspected and found to be in compliance. The center is equipped with toys and supplies and items are available to the children. The first aid kit and non-emergency supplies were inspected and found to be in compliance. Medication is administered and five emergency medication authorizations were reviewed today. Medication is administered and three emergency medications were reviewed today. During the inspection, five children?s records and staff information required to be present at the center for staff members were reviewed. The most recent evacuation drill was documented on 11/15/2019. The most recent shelter-in-place drill was documented on 10/17/2019.
