Technical Assistance:
Discussion was held regarding all the components needed to be included in the Emergency Plan.

Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 12/04/2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The subsidy requirements were reviewed this date; allergy action plans, staff trainings, nutrition and food services, recordkeeping, hazardous substances, reporting injuries, emergency plans.
A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-665-510-B
Description: Based on documentation review and interview, a record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care was not updated as it occurs.
Evidence:
1) In the attendance record in the Caterpillar room, 10 children were signed-in in attendance but there were 14 children present in the classroom. An eleventh child was marked present with a check mark next to his name but did not record the time of arrival.
2) The teacher stated that some parents forget to sign-in.

Plan of Correction: I will talk to the teachers today.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-770-B
Description: Based on documentation review and interview, it was determined that the written emergency plan did not contain all the procedural components required.
Evidence:
1) On the date of inspection, 12/04/2019, the emergency plan available for review did not contain lock-down procedures, procedures for continuity of operations, clear methods to account for all children at the safe locations, methods of communication after the emergency, procedures to address reuniting children with a parent or an authorized person and accommodations or special requirements for children with special needs.
2) The director stated that they are in the process of updating the center's Emergency Plan.

Plan of Correction: The director will work on it and have it completed by the end of the week.
