An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with the director beginning at 3:30 PM and ending at 5:05 PM. There were seven children in the care of two staff members. The children's ages ranged between 11 through 13 years old. The children were observed eating snack which consisted of oatmeal bites and milk. Hand washing procedures were also observed. Children were also observed playing math bingo with the EEC teacher. Six children's records were reviewed. Three staff members' records were reviewed and in compliance. Two medications were reviewed. The emergency escape drill log was reviewed and in compliance. The most recent emergency escape drill was documented as 9/3/19. The most recent shelter-in-place drill was documented as 11/20/2019. The most recent fire inspection was documented as 5/13/19. The most recent health inspection was documented as 5/31/19.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on the review of six children's records, the center failed to ensure that all the children's records contained the required information. Evidence: Child A and B's records were missing the parents work phone numbers. Child C's records was missing the name and address for the parent's place of employment. Plan of Correction: The center will conduct a file review of children's records and request any missing information from the parents.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-G Description: Based on a review of medication and documentation, the center failed to have a staff member that was trained in rectal medication administration. Evidence: There was one emergency medication that needs to be rectally administered on site. None of the staff members had the required MAT training for rectally administered medication. Plan of Correction: The center will schedule the current staff to complete the required MAT training for rectally administered medication as soon as possible.
