An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted between the hours of 10:30 am through 4:30pm. At the time of entrance, 49 children were in care with 8 staff members present. Children were observed building with blocks, coloring, singing songs, and engaging in imaginative play. A selection of staff and children records, the physical space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, attendance records, injury reports, and medications were reviewed. Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3 Description: Based on record review, an out of state child abuse and neglect search was not completed for one staff.
Evidence:
Staff #2 began employment on 10/31/19. Staff #2 has lived outside of the state of Virginia in the last 5 years. There was no documentation of an out of state child abuse and neglect search in the record for Staff #2.Plan of Correction: The center will provide documentation that the out of state child abuse and neglect search was submitted within 10 days of this inspection.
