63.2 Facilities & Programs.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:00am-12:00pm. There were 76 children (infants-5yrs.) supervised by 11 direct care staff. The physical plant, programming and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, singing, building and circle time. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, are not being kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Cleaning supplies and air freshener (keep out of reach of children), are not being kept in a locked place making them accessible to children.
Plan of Correction: Items were removed from area and will be kept in a locked place and inaccessible to children.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B Description: Based on observation and conversation with staff, the diapering surface is not being cleaned with soap and at least room temperature water and sanitized after each use.
The diapering surface in the beginners classroom is not following the correct procedures for cleaning and sanitizing according to the standards. A spray bottle of bleach and water was available, but not a bottle of soap and water.
Plan of Correction: A spray bottle of soap and water was put in the room, and proper procedures were reviewed again with staff.
