The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection on 12/12/2019 from 9:40am to 1:45pm. The children were observed learning through play in centers, playing on the playground, eating lunch and preparing for nap. A formal observation was completed with the Infant and Preschool classrooms. The lunch menu was posted. Interviews were held with staff throughout the inspection, and the inspector interacted with children in each classroom when appropriate. All classrooms and playgrounds were inspected today.
Five children?s records and five employee records were reviewed during this inspection. Medication is being administered and was reviewed. Seven injury reports were reviewed as well as the center?s injury prevention plan which was updated 11/01/2019.
The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected.

The violations from the previous inspections were checked for corrections. There were no repeat violations found during today?s inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure hazardous substances such as cleaning materials were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
The inspector observed an unlocked closet in the center's hallway. The unlocked closet contained cleaners located on the top shelf out of the reach of children.
Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection and a reminder sign posted immediately.
