Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from approximately 8:30am-10am. There were 38 children in the direct care and supervision of 5 staff. A sample of 5 children?s records, 5 staff records, 2 medications and 5 minor injury logs were reviewed. The children were observed entering the facility and engaged with staff. The children were preparing for their nativity play. One new staff have been hired since the last inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-A
Description: Based on observation, an annual fire inspection report was not available to the licensing representative.

Evidence:
The fire inspection certificate expired 10/31/2019.

Plan of Correction: The building manager is out of town and as soon as he returns we will be able to get a copy of the new inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-C
Description: Based on observation, the first aid kit was incomplete.

Evidence:
The first aid kit was missing the following required contents:
1. Ice pack.

Plan of Correction: We will have pre-made ice packs ready.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-E
Description: Based on record review and interview, the center did not maintain a record of the dates of practiced drills.

Evidence:
1. A shelter-in-place drill was not documented for last school year.
2. Staff A stated that the drill was conducted on the last day of school and she forgot to document it.

Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.
