Technical Assistance:
1. Reviewed written attendance requirements, options, and need for it to reflect "real time." 2. Discussed capacity limits, and updated interpretation of how the State counts related non-resident children.

Comments:
10:35am-12:45pm Conducted an unannounced annual subsidy inspections. Observed 4 children in care = 5 points with the vendor. 1 parent was present with her child for a period of time, and grandchildren were present/arriving to the home. Children were watching a child appropriate movie, coloring, eating snack/lunch during the inspection. The daycare areas of the home were found to be clean, safeguarded appropriately, and sufficiently supplied with toys and equipment for the children. The vendor completed the annual child development training requirements, and is currently certified in First Aid/CPR. Administrative non-compliances found.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-160-B
Description: Based on records reviewed, it was determined that a written hard copy of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs has not been maintained. Evidence: Daily attendance was last recorded on a consistent basis in February 2019.

Plan of Correction: Reviewed options for recording attendance with vendor, who stated she would keep attendance every day.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-170-A
Description: Based on observations made and interview conducted, it was determined that 2 of 4 children present did not have a record of enrollment. Evidence: Child #7 and #8 were observed in the home from the inspector's time of arrival until approximately 11:30am. The vendor said she was helping another home provider who was running errands. No enrollment records were available for review.

Plan of Correction: The vendor will be sure to have enrollment records for any children she is supervising in the future.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-170-B
Description: Based on records reviewed, it was determined that 3 of 4 children's records did not include required information. Evidence: 1. Child #1 - Address for parent home/work; and address for the emergency contact individual. 2. Child #2 - Address for parent home/work; and address for the emergency contact individual. 3. Child #6 - Address for the emergency contact individual.

Plan of Correction: The vendor will ask parents to complete the missing information.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-210-B
Description: Based on records reviewed, it was determined that 1 of 4 children's records did not include immunizations once very 6 months until the age of 2 years old. Evidence: Child #3 - Immunizations were dated February 2018, when the child was 19 months old.

Plan of Correction: The parent was present during the inspection and said the immunizations are current and she will give the vendor the record.
